For this project, I explored the adaptive reuse of the former Ulster Bank in Blessington, transforming it into a boutique hotel. The aim was to preserve the buildings historical character while introducing a contemporary interior suitable for modern use. The concept is inspired by the natural landscape of Blessington and Wicklow, reflected through materials, colours, and textures that create a connection to nature. A balance between classical and modern design has been maintained to respect the existing structure while enhancing its atmosphere. The layout is organised to clearly separate public and private areas, supporting smooth circulation, accessibility, and a comfortable guest experience. Key spaces such as the reception, restaurant, bedrooms, and cinema are designed to be functional and welcoming. Overall, the project focuses on creating a warm, elegant environment that celebrates the buildings heritage while providing a unique experience for both visitors and the local community.
